Description:
  • Seller tells us his uncle came home with this sword, after a tour with the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific during World War II. We are not are exactly what it is, there is Japanese writing on the outside of the sheath, but no other marks found on the steel, even under the handle. The blade is sharp steel, with no heat marks from forging. The sheath and handle are wood. The handle has an eel skin cover, both the handle and sheath have a leather covering. It is the right size to be a Japanese NCO Sword, but no numbers or marks were found on the steel. The leather handle slides off easily. The blade is very sharp, and in good condition. The blade is 26.5”, overall length is 37.5” in the sheath.
